Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2011

Last week, we had our Davao Food Appreciation Tour. It was my first time to join but Avatar Media Team has been hosting it since 2008. DFAT is a 5-day event where selected bloggers from all over the Philippines get to sample the best food in Davao.

It started with dinner for those who arrived early on May 12 at Yellow Fin Seafood and Restaurant.

On May 13, we started the day with a lunch at Trellis `n Vines, followed with a cup of coffee at Coffee Cat. Snacks were served at Mam Beb's Bakeshop. It was more of a full meal than just snacks. After all, who can say no to a lechon de leche from Beko's Biik. Delegates also had a chance to meet the local bloggers. We had a couple of hours rest before they headed to dinner that was sponsored by San Miguel Brewery Inc.

On May 14, some of the delegates went to take a dip at one of the famous beach resorts in Samal Island, the Paradise Beach Resort which was then followed with lunch in Ranchero. They also get to experience Davao's Zip Line before taking a break at Crepelato. Dinner was then served at Lachi's Sans Rival.

The following day, May 15, we were given a chance to enjoy Malagos Garden Resort's Bird Show followed with a buffet lunch at the Garden Restaurant. After which, we headed to Philippine Eagle Center for a guided educational tour. On our way back to city proper, we passed by Lola Abon's to buy some durian candies and ice cream before proceeding to Don Beppe Pizza & Pasta for dinner.

Some delegates had an early start for the last day of DFAT with a trip to Bagobo Tribe in Sta. Cruz, Davao Del Sur. By lunchtime, they were back in Davao City and we had lunch at Pixie's Sinugba. An hour later, we were seated inside Tiny Kitchen Creations for more Italian and some spanish food and lots of cakes and pastries. After three hours of rest, we gathered again at Wings and Dips for dinner before they grabbed some coffee and desserts at Cafe Demitasse.

More than just food, we also get a chance to take home items from Aromacology Sensi IncSarangani Bay, Loud Plastics Creations by Maej and GeiserMaclang Marketing Communications, Inc. Transportation was sponsored by Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre and Etours Davao.

I didn't get to join all the scheduled itinerary but I'll be posting more about those that I was able to.

  1. sayang indi ako nakasali; maybe next time; favorite ko talaga ang Davao food. When I was in Cebu, I always missed all the food in Davao; until now I don't get tired eating the same Davao recipe over and over again.:-)
